Dialysis is due to start tonight at some point before midnight (the 24 hour CVVHD type for those of you who are interested). Apparently the 24 hour type of dialysis is less of a shock to the system since it filters over a longer period of time. At least this will start getting rid of some of that fluid. It will take a while to notice a difference, but dialysis should start to get things on the right track.

From the lung perspective things are still looking peachy. I’m sure you’re all well aware by now that it takes a long time for all of the cultures to come back, but so far, so good. His X-ray today was clearer than yesterday’s and his chest sounds fine.

That sounds like great news. Who knew we’d all be this interested in Joey’s “pissing capacity”! Hopefully the dialysis will be very short lived. Thanks for the update. Hugs all around.

    Love Sylvia
