Grandpa Isvik passed away on Thursday night. We miss him already.
We also received some other very sad news. Our friend, Cheryl Nilsson, passed away recently due to complications with her CF. This is a big loss for the CF community. Besides being an absolute sweetheart, Cheryl was a big proponent for the importance of organ donation. (Those of you who watch global news, you might remember seeing stories on her). Our deepest condolences go out to Ruby and the rest of Cheryl’s family. She will be very dearly missed.
Needless to say, we are feeling a bit down in the dumps. In a vain attempt to cheer himself up, Joey went to see an psychic. I know, right? Although some of the vague ramblings could have been construed as having some truth to them, I have chosen to ignore that part and focus on some of the low lights, as they promise greater comedic value. Here we go:
He said Joey is in for no major traumas.
Yeah, all of the medical procedures he’s been having are a walk in the park.
He said we are going to travel somewhere far away, like Indonesia.
Maybe if we were shopping on the black market. Oh wait, that was Mississauga and it was kidneys, not liver. (This joke would have been much funnier had it been made 2 years ago, when it was topical. Oh well, our friends out east will have a laugh about it).
He said Joey’s liver and kidney function patterns are excellent. He needs a little dental work, but other than that, he’s as healthy as a horse. In terms of major health levels, nothing is seen in the next few years.
To be fair, Joey does need some dental work, but I’m thinking that his chipped tooth might have given this one away. As for being healthy as a horse, I would have thought that the jaundice and bag of prescriptions he had in his hand might have given some indication that this assessment was not 100% accurate. Good to know we’ve been making a mountain out of a molehill.
Happy freaking Thanksgiving.
