One Step at a Time

The liver team is still content; Joey’s new liver is slowly starting to work. White blood cell count is coming down, so hopefully that infection is getting under control and hitting the road.

Kidney function tests still suck, but there was a little more urine output today (up from nearly zilch), so that’s positive. They started dialysis tonight, so they’re hoping that will help get rid of some of the toxins and make him more alert.

He was responding to me tonight, but not consistently. It was the most alert that I have seen him so far though. The breathing tube is still in; hopefully he will be better able to respond to the docs commands tomorrow so it can come out.
