Saskatchewan

I left BC this morning (again):

My first stop was:

Where I accosted Julia Knowlton and gave her a DVD. Julia and her right hand man talked me into visiting the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump interpretive centre and I’m very glad I did:

My next stop was in Lethbridge, where I met up with Randilynn Lush while I was gassing up with my Safeway gift cards (thanks again Safeway!)

Eventually, I made it over the boarder yet again:

And took the time out to grab some dinner at Boston Pizza in Swift Current, where I gave Josh Millman a copy of 65_RedRoses:

I think Josh is particularly deserving of a big shout out. In addition to being the first guy I’ve given a copy of the DVD to in a while, by the time I reached Swift Current I was feeling particularly burnt out. This resulted in my explanation of what I’m doing sounding something like this: “You! Free movie. Husband dead. Friend dead. Pose for picture and give name.” Surprisingly, he obliged, although he did admit that I caught him off guard, so it took him a minute to get his bearings. Couple all of this with the fact that I looked like I had peed my pants due to a bottle of carbonated water exploding over my lap minutes before I entered the restaurant and I’m shocked he even talked to me. Or that I wasn’t ejected from the establishment the instant I walked through the door. Maybe people are more relaxed around these parts.

When I drove past a sign for a place called Uren a while after the whole dinner debacle, I got a major case of the giggles. Saskatchewan is pretty, even if some of the towns are hilariously named:

The fact that whoever did the naming apparently has a sense of humor just makes me love it all the more. Finally made it to Regina and am going to hit the hay. As you might be able to tell, I am in dire need of some sleep.
