Make a donation to help fight Cystic Fibrosis.
Help support me on my cross Canada journey to raise awareness about Cystic Fibrosis and organ donation.
There are several ways to make a financial donation:
A savings account has been opened at the Royal Bank for donations. If you choose this method, you will need the following two numbers:
Account Number: 5128046
Transit Number: 08160
If you are technologically savvy, you can donate via email transfer (email@example.com), or on-line.
Donations are also accepted via snail mail. Cheques or money orders can be sent to:
C-1 R.R. #1 Whalen Road
Powell River, BC
Thank you for your support!
In British Columbia, one out of every three organs which could be available for transplant is lost because the donor’s wishes are left unknown. Many people awaiting transplant die on the list.
By becoming a donor, you are able to give up to 33 (that’s right, 33) people a second chance at life. You also give transplant recipients’ friends and family more time with their loved ones.
There is no age limit on organ donation and having medical illnesses does not always preclude someone from becoming a donor.
In BC, in 1997, a new registry system replaced all previous methods of indicating your wishes about organ donation. If you registered on your driver’s license or care card, you are NO LONGER an organ donor in British Columbia. The new registration forms can be found at your local ICBC office, doctors’ offices in BC, London Drugs, Overwaitea and Save-On-Foods Pharmacies, and Van City Credit Unions. The new registration forms are easy and fast to fill out and come with a postage paid envelope.
Alternatively, people can call 1-800-663-6189 or register/check their registration status online at www.transplant.bc.ca The BC transplant society’s website also has the answers to frequently asked questions about organ donation.
I would like to extend my gratitude to those who have already registered. You are helping more people than you will ever know.
